{"id":419,"date":"2010-05-11T09:30:02","date_gmt":"2010-05-11T14:30:02","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/jessicaleader.com\/blog\/?p=419"},"modified":"2010-05-11T09:31:19","modified_gmt":"2010-05-11T14:31:19","slug":"she-just-yelled-at-me","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/jessicaleader.com\/blog\/2010\/05\/she-just-yelled-at-me\/","title":{"rendered":"&#8220;She Just Yelled at Me&#8221;"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>I know I need to write about Good Old Reliable Nathan, Part II, but I had to link to <a href=\"http:\/\/www.nytimes.com\/2010\/05\/07\/nyregion\/07avatar.html?emc=tnt&amp;tntemail1=y\">this article about using the game Second Life in schools <\/a>to give kids lessons in government negotiations.\u00a0 There are potentially things to say about bringing role-playing games in school, but as usual, what I loved was what the kids actually said.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\">If they forgot a vendor\u2019s name or a meeting location, the mayor\u2019s assistant gave them a hard time. The mayor herself had an attitude, telling avatars in jeans and sneakers not to come back until they were properly attired.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\">\u201c[The mayor] just yelled at me,\u201d said Nina-C\u2019mone Helms, 18, staring at her computer in disbelief last month. \u201cShe got smart with me because I chose the wrong person.
