{"id":442,"date":"2010-06-01T13:58:35","date_gmt":"2010-06-01T18:58:35","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/jessicaleader.com\/blog\/?p=442"},"modified":"2010-06-01T14:03:54","modified_gmt":"2010-06-01T19:03:54","slug":"kids-reading-nice-and-mean","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/jessicaleader.com\/blog\/2010\/06\/kids-reading-nice-and-mean\/","title":{"rendered":"Kids Reading Nice and Mean!"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>A teacher I have respected for years is including <em>Nice and Mean<\/em> on her summer reading list (wow!\u00a0 I&#8217;m honored!\u00a0 And&#8211;grad school friends will laugh hysterically at this&#8211;the other choice is <em>Tangerine<\/em>!*)\u00a0 When I alerted\u00a0my can-do publicist of this exciting development, she rushed the teacher some classroom copies.\u00a0 And when they reached the classroom, the teacher in question sent me this:<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/jessicaleader.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/06\/CPS-kids-reading-nice-and-mean.bmp\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-443\" title=\"CPS kids reading nice and mean!\" src=\"http:\/\/jessicaleader.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/06\/CPS-kids-reading-nice-and-mean.bmp\" alt=\"\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Don&#8217;t the kids look cute?\u00a0 They&#8217;re my exact audience!\u00a0 And some of them actually look interested in the book!\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>As you may know, I have a <em>Nice and Mean<\/em> fan page on Facebook, less because I think I deserve fans than because I want to let for acquaintancey Friends to opt out of hearing every last development.\u00a0 The Facebook page has taken on its own personality, and she (I think of it as a she) feels like she looks pretty good in that picture!\u00a0 The &#8220;mean&#8221;
